2013: Our next HELAAS symposium is about to take place between Dec. 6th-7th, 2013. This is a biannual event organized in Greek with emphasis placed on the dissemination of research pertaining to American Studies and Greek-American cultural relations to the general Greek public. We are focusing on an interdisciplinary study of space (title in Greek: Χω/ρο-γραφώντας την Αμερική: a title playing with the different spelling in Greek of the word "choros" which can be translated both as space and movement/dance).

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

2013: These last few months HELAAS has been busy with the updating of its the association's articles. All changes will be confirmed during the next HELAAS general assembly meeting to take place on Oct. 1st, 2013.

2013: The editing of the volume of the previous HELAAS Symposium is in progress. The title of the volume is "Visualizing America" and it will be published in Greek.

2013: Anna Fyta (PhD Candidate and HELAAS member) received the EAAS grant for research to be carried out in Yale University Library in Summer 2013. We thank EAAS for its significant support.
