2012: The biennial SANAS conference took place at the University of Zürich on November 9-10 in conjunction with our sister-association, the Austrian Association for American Studies (AAAS). The theme was “Cultures in Conflict / Conflicting Cultures”. Co-organized by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Bronfen (University of Zürich), Prof. Dr. Mario Klarer (University of Innsbruck), and PD Dr. Christina Ljungberg (University of Zürich), the conference brought together American Studies scholars from the United States, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. This was an international meeting of great importance to Swiss Americanists, which also allowed our graduate students to present their research before an international audience.
2013 : AGM and mini-conference will take place at the University of Geneva on 26 October 2013. The conference theme is "Co-operating with SANAS's Sister Organizations". Guest speakers are Michael Festl from the University of St. Gallen, who is the incoming President of the Swiss Philosophical Association, and Don Pease, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Dartmouth College.
2014 : The biennial SANAS conference will take place at the University of Basel in November. The title of the conference is “Literature, Ethics, Morality: American Studies Perspectives.”
2012: The SANAS Spring Reading Group met at the Restaurant Dählhölzli in Berne on June 9.

2013: The SANAS Spring Reading Group met at the “Haus der Universität” in Berne on 01 June 13.
Professor Debra Rosenthal (John Carroll University, Ohio) discussed her work with us.
